I've read this too--fantastic idea! Thanks for the reminder on it, Janice. I do like doing the barefoot thing too, altho Santana is ouchy enough that I use Boas on him in the front. I may do the same w/ Shadow. Kathleen uses Boas (I think) on her Icey mare and likes them--I don't think she's had any problems. Robyn
