That's really a good point.  I don't think a lot of us would use the word,
except that some people have "corrected" us when we use the American/English
terms!  As crazy as it seems, we've heard people (Americans, Europeans, and
Icelanders) deny that these horses do the "other" gaits, like running walk,
foxtrot, etc.
