Apparently all of the animal registrations are handled by one agency in Canada, the CLRC, and it's awesome...and it's free! You can search for parts of a horse's name, and then click on hyperlinks to find out more: find offspring and ancestors, etc.. Here it is for Icelandics: http://www.clrc.ca/cgi-bin/query.cgi?_association=94 Since many of my horses are from Canada, or have relatives from Canada, it's amazing how much I've been able to figure out from looking at this site.
