There is a western style saddle that a man makes in the US - somewhere in a southern state I think, Nancy probably knows. It is just as you describe and is very secure for the rider. Dana has also made some Sensations for therapeutic riding programs that come up higher behind and also in front I think. They are working well for the program in Red Deer.
