When you have a small herd like I do, you get to noticing they are all
such individuals! Seems funny we try and treat all horses like they
are the same when training....

My Fox, my gosh I have never seen a horse with a bigger heart. His
HEART is huge, just humungous. Getting to know him, over the years,
at first i think, oh I am imagining it, or imprinting my human
emotion, but no... its REAL.

All my horses just grazing, having a nice day in the field, Fox does
not seem particularly affectionate of Tivar or Nasi, in fact, often
has skirmishes with them at feeding time. He starts noticing they
arent in the pasture. He comes alllll the way up to find them, sees
them, stands at the gate waiting. I bring Tivar in, Fox smells him
all over, smells he has been bleeding (bloodwork done), follows him,
smelling his neck where the blood was drawn, Tivar gets aggravated and
kicks at him and trots off, Fox whirls and starts calling to Nasi who
is still out with the vet, calling, Nasi calls back. Fox waits, high
head, consumed with worry, when I let Nasi in he smells him all over
then nips him, like run along you nut, why arent you with us...

He is my only horse who even cares and will come running when a little
chick gets separated and starts peeping for its mother.

Jaspar, herd leader, acts like he wishes everyone, people and horses,
would just leave him to himself.

I bet if I had babies around fox would be a babysitter gelding...
