Pam,

A compost pile if done right will get HOT before it turns to Dirt,
that IMH kills the worm eggs... after it is done cooking it will get
smaller and harden up, If you want to compost somewhere, then put the
COOKED compost in a pile for your hill you could do that too..

I add hay to my compost pile that is fenced off, cause I don't let my
herd eat the moldy/icky hay... that pile will get moved when it is
done cooking.... so, I have both piles, infact, my HILL that the
horses use the most, made up of cooked compost, that is hard and will
stay, is the backdrop for the compost pile...
