Then try this: if the carrots seem to be working OK to get Dagur to the end of the driveway, (they are just bite size pieces, right?) when you get to the end of the driveway, put the pieces really, really close together with a "jackpot" of apples and carrots say, 6' out to start with. Then move your "jackpot out to 8', with a lot of little pieces of carrots up to it. Keep the "jackpot" in view as you gradually move it further and further out. Try that this weekend with your end goal being something easy, like only 10' from the driveway.
