My grandfather came here because of a war in Ukraine but my grandmother was born in Canada--they had a rough life living in a one room house with no indoor plumbing. My Mother and her sister and brothers were born in Yorkton, Sask. My Mother moved to Toronto when she was 18, met and married my dad who was from Nova Scotia and our family lived in Toronto till I was 16, then we moved East. Because of distance I've gotten out of touch with many of relatives out West and never had the opportunity to observe Ukrainian customs. I feel I lost part of who I am. V
