That is a great photo and a heartbreaking story but I think we need to remember when we venture into the wild and less populated areas we are taking a chance on run-ins with wild animals. Of course, I'd rather take my chances with the wild animals in the wilderness than with the drive by shooters in the big ciies. Life is full of opportunities to get harmed but we can't sterilize our world and we can't bury ourselves in our homes to stay totally safe. Usually if we respect their space, the animals respect ours.
