I found that... for whatever reason, horse manure produced great luxuriant foliage on my roses, but they never bloomed! Then chicken manure, they bloomed like crazy. I put horse manure tea on all my other plants. chicken manure will burn like crazy so I use dirt from inside the chicken pens instead of the actual manure.
