When I first got into Icelandics the fact that our guy 'tolted' was enough for me. I almost think at that time that if I had to try identify the different nuances of what he was doing...I would have been too intimidated and passed on a lovely gelding.... But not letting fear or common sense stand in my way...we purchased Lord and haven't looked back since. He was smooth as glass and had a calm babysitting type of personality and my daughter and I loved him deeply. (We lost him in a freak accident and on some days I still feel his loss.) As for gaits...I really don't care what they do as long as they are smooth. Gusti's trot is to die for...and he may have something more in there as far as a soft gait goes. However, now we have Solon and Dagur to help develop...and they have all sorts of gaits bubbling out. Now I feel compelled to know what they're doing simply from a training aspect. I sort of have the feeling of how do I know where I'm going when I don't know where I've been type of thing...if that makes sense. Wanda -- Thoughts become things...
