>>> Wow, your trip brings back my life's memories prior to moving west! I >>> was raised in Va. Beach just a couple hours north of Nags Head and my >>> best friend lived on the Currituck sound. You probably wouldn't recognize the place now. There are two bridges, one from the mainland out to Manteo and onto Nags Head, and another bridge on 158 at Kitty Hawk, so no ferries required in this part. (There are still a couple further south, one from Hatteras to Ocracoke.) We go through Raleigh to Manteo. I wish I could have known the place before it developed so much - lucky you. It's still a nice area, but growing too fast. We love the Currituck Sound - it's so peaceful. Karen Thomas, NC
