I would say that this horse is close to hard pacing with the saddle; without the saddle the timing of the laterals is broken up a little more.
I should send you all a video some time of my offtrack Standardbred. He does the most awful hard pace imaginable. Although he does trot, stepping pace and canter under saddle, in harness he never does anything other than hard pace. It was really drilled into him. Nancy
