As you already mentioned you found files in the PNP4Nagios folder (not
Icinga) so I'd take a look at
http://oss.oetiker.ch/rrdtool/doc/rrdresize.en.html and similar rrdtool
programs ;-)

I can't see how to do this for a subset of services. Is it possible to
change the settings for a subset rather than universally? If so, how?
