Thank you Tobias, that’s great news! I’ll keep an eye out for the rc version
and update when it’s available.

Thanks again for the reply.

Hi,

your exception shows that you are trying to write to the _local_ file
"/var/run/icinga2/cmd/icinga2.cmd". Your problem is mentioned at
https://dev.icinga.org/issues/8815 and should be solved.

Cheers,
Tobias

Does nobody else have this issue or am I reporting it wrong?
Can anyone verify that they can send commands to more than one Host or
Service at a time (with Icingaweb2 installed on it’s own server,
remote from the checker/command Icinga2 server)?
Or maybe I need to ask a more general question. What is the best way
to put 30 hosts into downtime in Icinga?

Hi List,
I have Icingaweb2 installed and working fine on a separate host from
the checker.
I can send commands/acknowledgements/etc from the web interface but
only if I select a single host/service. If I select multiple hosts
or services and try to send any command, it does not work.
I get the following error:
SERVER ERROR: CAN'T SEND EXTERNAL ICINGA COMMAND "[1431456766]
ACKNOWLEDGE_HOST_PROBLEM;AIRFORCE-VM04;2;1;0;CNEWKIRK;SOMEONE
REBOOTED THE ARMED FORCES." TO THE LOCAL COMMAND FILE
"/VAR/RUN/ICINGA2/CMD/ICINGA2.CMD": EXCEPTION 'RUNTIMEEXCEPTION'
WITH MESSAGE
'SPLFILEOBJECT::__CONSTRUCT(/VAR/RUN/ICINGA2/CMD/ICINGA2.CMD):
FAILED TO OPEN STREAM: NO SUCH FILE OR DIRECTORY' IN
/USR/SHARE/NGINX/ICINGAWEB2-2.0.0-BETA3/LIBRARY/ICINGA/UTIL/FILE.PHP:39
It appears icingaweb is attempting to use the local command file,
which does not exist. It should be using the remote command file.
I’ve looked through the .ini files in /etc/icingaweb2 but I
don’t even see this configuration setting, so where is this
configured and how to I ensure Icingaweb only uses the remote
command file, not the local one?
