Subject: Re: [icinga-users] Compiling Icinga on Centos

Hi All,
Linux Ludite Windows background; so hit me too hard.
Have Updated the Nagios details to current release.
Everything to this point worked correctly.
Icinga Quickstart Instructions state (in part )
Compile and Install the Nagios Plugins
Extract the Nagios plugins source code tarball.
# cd /usr/src
# tar xvzf nagios-plugins-1.4.15.tar.gz
# cd nagios-plugins-1.4.15
The CD statement seems to be supervulious as you then immediately change
to
/usr/local/icinga
Compile and install the plugins by changing install directory to
/usr/local/icinga
Here I changed to /usr/local/icunga and tried to run the ./configure
# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/icinga --with-nagios-user=icinga
Screen results: - - - -
[r...@centos icinga]# ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/icinga
--with-nagios-user=icinga
-bash: ./configure: No such file or directory
[r...@centos icinga]# ls
bin etc libexec sbin share var
[r...@centos icinga]#
Any Ideas Im lost, as to where / what the files are that the ./config is
complaining about.
Any pointer greatfully received.
Well, the documentation says "Compile and install the plugins by
changing install directory to /usr/local/icinga" which might be a bit
misleading but what is meant is:
"Compile and install the plugins by setting the install directory to
/usr/local/icinga using the command line argument --prefix because the
default value is /usr/local/nagios".
