Update!

After setting the "log_passive_checks" to 1, all passive hosts got in a
Critial state because the results are stale.

Could it be some issue with the nsca process? Maybe not able to process
the data?

Thanks,

Leon

Onderwerp: [icinga-users] false stale messages

Dear all,

Recently, after some time of testing, I was starting to take my Icinga
box (currently on 1.4.1) in production migrating all monitored hosts
from my old Nagios box.

However all active checks are working fine, the passive checks are not
running as expected.

Some hosts/servers are almost all the time in 'not-ok' states.

I have set up my passive checks with freshness checks because I want to
know that the passive checks are still being send by the hosts and
received by my Icinga box.

Messages appearing in the icinga.log file are like this:

Warning: The results of service 'cpu_status' on host 'hostname' are
stale by 0d 0h 0m 31s (threshold=0d 0h 1m 0s). I'm forcing an immediate
check of the service.

The values of 'stale vary from 1 second to 35, but they will always stay
under the threshold.

Changing freshness values won't matter, even not setting it to 1 hour.

Can anyone help me out on this one?

Cheers,

Leon
