St. Mary¹s Team Race Intersectional
St. Mary¹s College, MD
March 11-12 2006

The St. Mary¹s team race was a great event which could not have been
possible without the outstanding RC work by the SMC undergrads and the 7
umpires that traveled to St. Mary¹s for this event. A special thanks to
Stovy Brown (Chief Umpire), Ken Ward, Jeff Borland, Curtis Flood, Barbara
Herbig, Dan Trammel and Jim Walsh. The regatta was run with Limited
umpiring and was sailed in both FJ¹s and 420¹s.

Saturday:

We started the day with a light 5 kts N-NE breeze, which then died and
clocked around to the south and then clocked again to the east. Conditions
were mixed with a 8 kts southerly and then dieing to a 3-5 kts easterly.
The RC did a great job in running 54 races in the changing conditions.

Sunday:

We sailed the whole day in a southerly which was up and down in velocity, as
much as 8 kts and as little as 0 kts.. The RC did a great job again running
37 races but in the end we were eight races short of finishing the second
round robin. But will give the RC credit for running 91 races even though
only the first round counted for the scores.
