US Sailing - Under 21 Qualifier for the 2007 ISAF Team Racing World
Championship

US Sailing, the US Sailing Team Racing Committee and Stanford
University are proud to announce the U.S. qualifying regatta for the
U.S. “Under-21” berth at the 2007 ISAF Team Racing World
Championship, to be held in West Kirby, England in August 20-25, 2007.
The qualifier, hosted in sunny California, will be run out of
Stanford University’s world-class Morrison Boathouse, in FJ’s, on
March 17-18, 2007. NOR and application form (entries will be limited
to 10 teams and will be selected via resume if necessary) will be
distributed shortly.
AGE REQUIREMENT: All team members must be over 15 years of age on 31
December 2007 – i.e. born 1992 or earlier, and all team members must
be under 21 years of age on 31 December 2007 – i.e. born 1987 or
later.
This is a unique opportunity for youth, high school and under-21
collegiate sailors to compete in a high-profile and competitive
national team racing event, and attempt to qualify for an ISAF world
championship. Teams are not required to be from the same school or
club, but must be U.S. nationals.
“This is an excellent opportunity for young up and coming sailors to
gain some big regatta experience,” says Mitch Brindley, the
president of ICSA. “I would like to wish all the competitors the
best of luck in qualifying for and competing in the ISAF World Team
Racing Championship.”
Please note this event conflicts with the Truxton Umstead regatta at
Navy.
2007 ISAF World Team Racing Championship:
In 2007 team racing will come to its 'founding home', the West Kirby
Sailing Club in West Kirby, England for the 7th ISAF World Team
Racing Championship.
Racing will take place on the marine lake which provides amazing
views of the racing for spectators.
