Saturday: With an occluded front over Hampton
Roads, conditions were unpredictible today. Winds went from NE to ENE
to E then back to NE. Wind speed varied from 4-12 knots throughout the
day and air temperatures also varied. Tidal current became an issue
late
in the day with lots of over-earlies because the current was pushing
boats over the line. All races were run off Strawberry Banks which made
for great spectating. The barbeque hosted by HU drew a crowd and we
hope to have more students out tomorrow. 8 Races in A and 6 Races in B
were run. With good winds tomorrow we expect to complete
a full rotation.
Sunday: There were sunny skies and building breeze out of the NE and
eventually ENE most of the day. We completed 4 Races in A Division and
6 Race in B Division today for a complete rotation by 3:00pm. The wind
built to 18 knots gusting to 22 knots for the last set in B Division. 5
protests were heard resulting in 2 DSQ's.
