Regatta Summary:
Saturday - 10 races were completed in South winds ranging from 6 to 14
with races 4-7 in the most breeze. Courses were windward leeward twice
around with an offset and gates. Sailing was clean with no rule 42
penalties. 3 protests were filed - 2 were denied and 1 was withdrawn.
Sunday - The first races of the day were raced in a dying northwesterly
breeze beginning at 10 and dropping below 3. After lunch a new
northwesterly came in that hovered in the 5-10 range. 8 windward
leeward races were completed. One protest by the umpires.
The top 5 sailors qualify. Congratulations to Jane Macy from Yale,
Krysta Rohde of the Coast Guard Academy, Megan Watson of Harvard, Janel
Zarkowsky of BU and Elizabeth Barry of Brown.
Many thanks to Chief Judge George Crocker, Emery Wager, Kathleen Tocke
(Saturday) and Trevor Moore (Sunday). RWU would also like to thank the
Enright family and Vanguard Sailboats for letting us borrow their
boats. Thank you to Lee Icyda and all of the RWU sailors who helped out
this weekend on and off the water.
