REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: Ten sailors from four schools competed at the SAISA Women's Single-handed Qualifiers hosted by the Univ of South Florida on Sept 29, 2007. Winds were from the NNE all day, generally between 8 and 12 knots, with a few stronger gusts. The incoming tide in the afternoon resulted in? numerous general recalls, but there were no protests and no breakdowns. Thanks to Eckerd coach Jim Terkelsen and College of Charleston coach Ward Cromwell, USF coed sailors Andrew Jones and Jon Ellington, and Ash Landes for their assistance on the water. Congratulations to College of Charleston sailors who took the top three spots. Advancing to the Single-handed Nationals in Seattle are Allison Blecher who dominated the event, winning 8 out of 10 races, and Gina???? Anderson-Mitterling, who finished a strong second.
