??????????????????????? SAISA Fall Women's Dinghy Champs ????????????????????????? UNIVERSITY of SOUTH FLORIDA ?????????????????????????????? September 30, 2007 ???????????????????????????????? FINAL RESULTS REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS: Six teams traveled to the University of South Florida - St. Petersburg for the SAISA Fall Women's Championships. Winds were as forecast, from the NE, generally 16-22 knots, with some gusts even stronger. Modified windward-leeward courses were set in the protected waters of Bayboro Harbor because the waves on Tampa Bay were too large for the fleet of FJs to handle. At one point during race number 5, seven out of twelve boats were capsized, and racing was halted at the conclusion of that race because of a shortage of safety boats. Thank you to Eckerd's Coach Terkelsen, Charleston's Coach Cromwell, and UNC Chapel Hill and Floria supporters for their assistance on the water as mark set, safety, and breakdown boat.
