These are the results for: Hap Moore Trophy Team Race @ Coast Guard October 6-7
Hap Moore Team Race
US Coast Guard Academy
October 6-7, 2007
Regatta Highlights:
Saturday: Racing was delayed in the morning as the sun tried to burn through
the fog. Racing began at 12:30 and in all 47 races were completed. All
courses were the college style digital N at 10-15 minutes. Breeze was a
little shifty as there was a southerly on the first beat and a westerly on the
last beat. The Coast Guard cadets did a fantastic job making sure the course
was square all day. Protests were heard by coaches using 3-minute justice
which resulted in one DSQ and one Redress for a re-sail when the jib came down
in the last race of the day. One more protest to be heard as one team left
just a little to early. Plan is to finish up this rotation and sail a Gold
and Silver round.
Sunday: Competitors were greated by the passing of the cold front which saw
winds out of the NE at 12. The wind shifted back and forth from the North and
East all day and made moving marks a non stop adventure. In all the rotation
was completed along with a single gold and silver rounds. A total of 96 races
in all on the same course. The win loss grid does not like this format so I
will send it out seperately. Special thanks to Mark and Chris Fortin from
Kattack who monitored all 96 races and all Saturdays racing was on display all
day Sunday for coaches and competitors to look at, real cool stuff, I encourage
everyone to take a look. Final results with RP info are as follow:
