FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday: We began sailing at the mouth of the cove in 10-15 kt winds
and a shifty Northerly. As
the day progressed, the wind moderated to 5-8 kts and shifted towards
the west. 18 teams
participated. 1 protest filed, resulting in 1 DSQ.
Sunday: The wind was consistently unstable. The breeze shifted from
North to West and back to
the North-West as the day went on. The velocity ranged from 3 to 12
knots with large puffs and
lulls and quick oscillations throughout the course. The water was
flat in the Northerly races
with slight chop when it shifted to a Westerly. Two races were
abandoned due to extremely large
shifts and unstable wind conditions and race committee had to wait
for conditions to stabilize.
No protests were heard, but judges did flag a number of boats.
Thanks to the judges Emily Hill, Clay Johnson, Matt Barry, and
Meredith Killion. Also thanks to
the Yale Sailing Team for running RC.
