Dear College Sailors and Coaches,

I hope your team racing training is going well this semester. I know it is difficult to get everyone on the same page when team racing, but if you can, beautiful things happen. I have created a team racing instructional video that uses actual team racing footage, chalk talks and interviews with team racing experts to help every team racer better understand the game of team racing. I've had my high school team watch it multiple times and our results have improved dramatically. The video explains all of the winning plays, mark traps and passbacks, starting strategy, fundamentals of team racing and overall race strategy. It is perfect for every team racer and racing program.

Check out video samples, sign up for free monthly team racing tips and buy the video at teachingteamracing.com.

Thank you and Good Luck!

Getting a Great Start!
One of the most important decisions you make in the pre-start is when you head back to the starting line for your final approach. Mastering the last approach is critical to team racing success. When making your final approach decision, it is important to factor in what any nearby opponents are doing. Here are some rules to help.

Rules:

You should lead your opponent if you think they are late to the line.

You should chase your opponent if you think they are early to the line.

And if the opponent in your area is heading back at about the right time: Watch the video clip for more!

This clip is a small part of the overall starting strategy explained in the team racing video.
