12 teams turned up for the 2008 Intrepid Trophy Match Race Regatta hosted by the Naval Academy.
Sailing aboard the Academy's fleet of Colgate 26s, PRO Taran Teague and her race committee team were able to complete 7 flights in light southeasterly breeze on the Severn River just off the Academy seawall. It was great to see competent sailing, spirited matches and aggressive maneuvering by all teams. Chief Umpire Angelo Buscemi pulled together a total of 10 umpires from around the country to make the on-water calls. When the dust settled, Navy was on top with 6 wins and 1 loss while St, Mary's, KP, Washington College, SUNY and Maine are in a 5 way tie for second each with 5 wins and 2 losses. Racing continues tomorrow.
