The Columbia University Sailing Team is seeking a full time coach for the 2008 – 2009 season.
Duties include: --Running practice 3x a week --Driving university vans to the practice site from our campus for all practices --Attending regattas (both local and away) while providing coaching for our competing athletes --Attending weekly team meetings (debrief regatta performance, review practice drills, and/or offer a chalk talk) --Assisting in operating and maintenance of the Columbia fleet including boats, equipment, and docks. --Performing administrative duties for the team. Our fall season is approximately twelve weeks long and our spring season runs for approximately eight weeks. Our team practices out of City Island Yacht Club, located in the Bronx. The drive is approximately 25 minutes from our campus. Our team is a motivated and student run club team. We are very dedicated to the sport and would like a coach that is equally so. An ideal candidate would have US Sailing Level 1 Certification, previous dinghy experience, and strong intra-personal skills.
