The 2008 Vanguard 15 National Championship (sponsored by Nautica) is less than a month away (June 14-15, 2008). Larchmont Yacht Club has been working hard to put together a great event, and as of right now, 40 entries are already in -- check out the entry list online at https://app1.regatta-manager.com/larchmont/v15nat -- the goal is to get 100 boats on the line to make the 2008 Nationals the largest Vanguard 15 regatta ever.
However, not many college sailors have signed up yet. I know that everyone is in the middle of finals or are just finishing -- or maybe you are just the kind of person who shows up the day of the regatta without registering first, but please take 5 minutes to sign up online since it helps the regatta organizers figure out important stuff, such as how much food and drink. Plus, while there are charter boats and housing available, it's all on a first-come, first-serve basis, so if you want those things, you have to sign up early and let them know. The NOR and other regatta info is posted on the Nationals website at http://www.larchmontyc.org/racing/V15National.shtml -- note that there is a late fee for entries received after June 1 -- all the more reason to sign up today. If you're pretty sure you're coming but you don't know who your crew will be or what your sail number is, you can still sign up online today -- you can always log back in later to edit your entry to add that stuff in.
