In March 2006, the 150-year old mansion that served as the clubhouse for
Morris Yacht & Beach Club, our homeport on City Island, NY, was destroyed by
fire.
Fortunately, no lives were lost nor boats damaged but everything in the
clubhouse was lost.

To assist the club in its rebuilding efforts...and groundbreaking for a new
clubhouse is scheduled to take place next month...our team initiated a
solicitation drive to acquire 150 burgees from yacht clubs and sailing
associations
around the world. To date, 141 burgees have been donated.

About a month ago, I sent a note via the ICSA & MAISA lists requesting burgee
contributions from as many colleges and universities as possible and I'd like
to thank the following schools, that responded so promptly: Army, Charleston,
Hobart/William Smith, Kings Point, Ocean County, Old Dominion, Penn State,
Princeton, St. Mary's of MD, Salve Regina & SUNY Maritime. Since my request was
forwarded in the middle of the summer, it may have been overlooked or not
communicated to the appropriate team leader, thus, this follow-up request. If
you
would be willing to donate a team burgee for future display at Morris Yacht &
Beach Club, it will be most appreciated. While any size is welcome, for
continuity sake, size 12"x18" is preferable.

Donations may be sent to me at the following address and all will be
acknowledged. Thank you very much for your consideration.
