Hello NWICSA,
Here comes the sailing season. I write to try and promote the idea of a JV scrimmage event. Last year we held one towards the end of the year in Fern Ridge for all the Oregon schools and if I recall correctly it went over very well. So I ask the Oregon schools again if they would like to have this event during the fall, or even two of these events to actually make it a series. I propose have a JV only event on Saturday Oct. 25th. This is the weekend of Singlehand Nationals and there are no other events scheduled in the Northwest. The event would be one day again and be held at Fern Ridge or Willamette. The other potential weekends are during Sloop Quals (although a sloop team is more important I believe) and during the North/South intersectional. The hardest part about these weekends are Football games, we could always make these Sunday events but that may not work either. Lets plan out where this will be and who will host it. UO hosted the last one so we should try and stick to the plan of alternating venue and sail in Portland this next time. Email me back if you or your team is interested in this event,.
