FINAL RESULTS
REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
Saturday- No racing due to lack of wind
Sunday- No breeze in the morning. A light Southerly filled in at noon
and the first race was started at 12:25pm. Six total races were sailed
using windward-leeward courses with an offset mark.
The Academy's fleet of Colgate 26's were sailed with a crew of four.
Teams rotated boats after each race. With all the rain in the past 48
hours
there was considerable ebb current all afternoon.
There were no protests and one yellow flag was taken. Racing was tight
and
going into the last race five teams had a chance to qualify.
Coast Guard and Brown finished tied with Coast Guard winning the
tiebreaker by virtue
of winning the last race to capture the Larry White Trophy.
Both teams will represent NEISA at the ICSA Sloop Nationals in St.
Petersburg, FL
on November 21-23 in Sonars.
