2008 SEISA Singlehanded Championship
University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City Boat Club Oklahoma City, OK September 27-28, 2008 Saturday morning consisted of light and variable conditions with a steady breeze of 2 kts. One race was completed before lunch, and 2 more after lunch in incredibly light conditions. Sunday morning 2 more races were completed before 12:00 in light and variable conditions with a breeze around 3 kts. Race courses used were windward-leewards consisting of 2 or 4 legs. No protests were filed throughout the weekend. We would all like to thank the Oklahoma City Boat Club, our PRO, Mike Anderson, and the rest of the OCBC race committee, as well as Rick Mallinson for judging the event. A big thanks to Julie Davison and Dolores Aughtry for helping with food and event planning, and to Pascal Aughtry for providing a safety boat. We would also like to thank Panera Bread, and Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler for donation food for the event! Due to Hurricane Ike, a special thanks goes out to the Wright family, John Fraser, Wiley Shaw, Karen Howard, and Bruce McDermott for loaning their Lasers to the Texas A&M Galveston team.
