NWICSA Sloop Championship 2008
University of Washington October 18-19, 2008 Notice of Race 1. Rules The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the ICSA Procedural Rules, the Sailing Instructions and this Notice of Race. 2. Format The regatta will be a rotational regatta. One complete rotation will constitute a regatta. Only races completed within a full rotation will be counted. If a rotation is not completed, all races from that incomplete rotation will be thrown out, and none will be counted towards a boats score. 3. Entry Fee The entry fee is $45. Teams are also required to submit a damage deposit of $200. This will be refunded if there is no damage found. The damage deposit must be in the form of a check for $200 made out to Kathryn Smith. 4. Boats Racing will be in Thistles. 5. Location The racing will be held on Lake Washington at the North Leschi Parking lot. North Leschi Parking lot is just North of Daniel's Broiler. Daniel's Broiler is located at 200 Lake Washington Boulevard, Seattle, WA 98122 6. Schedule Saturday, October 18, 2008 Report Time 9:30 AM Skipper's Meeting 9:45 AM First Race 11:00 AM No Racing after 4:30 PM Sunday, October 19, 2008 Report Time 9:30 AM First Race 10:00 AM No Racing After 3:00 PM 1. Other Rules a) Any contact between boats will result in a disqualification to the boat found at fault for the incident if the boat does not exonerate herself immediately following the incident. b) Failure to report contact between the warning signal of a race and the last boat finishing the race will result in every boat involved in the incident being disqualified. c) Judge boats and designated observer boats will be treated as obstructions. d) Teams must complete the deposit agreement form in order to be eligible to compete. The form is provided in addendum A below. 9. Information RSVP by October 10th. I agree to abide by the decision of the jury, race officials and regatta chairman and wave any right of appeal with respect to damage occurred during the regatta. The assessment of damage amount is at the sole discretion of the University of Washington. In the event the jury finds no competitor explicitly at fault for the damage, I agree that all competitors may be charged a portion of the damage cost.
