NOTICE OF RACE


 


GENERAL INFORMATION


We are proud to announce the seventeenth annual St. Francis Yacht Club
Collegiate Intersectional.  All ICSA-eligible sailing teams are welcome.
Saturday and Sunday will feature short-course, collegiate format racing in
FJ's on the San Francisco City Front.  Come enjoy plenty of wind and great
surfing conditions.

10:00am Competitors' Meeting
11:00am First start of the day

Sunday, April 5, 2009
10:00am First start of the day
4:00pm Races will not be started after this time 
5:00pm Trophy Presentation 

 


RULES


The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of
Sailing (except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions or
ICSA Procedural Rules), by the Sailing Instructions, and by the ICSA
Procedural Rules.  All competitors are required to wear a life jacket while
racing in accordance with ICSA PR 9(c). 

 


FORMAT


Standard three-minute starts will be used.  Coed and Women's Fleets will be
sailed SEPARATELY and there will NOT be a JV.  Races will be run on short
courses (15-20 minutes in length).  We will sail as many races as possible.
The race area will be close to the San Francisco seawall for easy viewing,
and the jibe mark will be within cheering distance of the shore.  

 


ENTRIES


Teams will sign up during registration on the morning of April 4th.  There
is no entry fee.  ALL SKIPPERS AND CREWS MUST SIGN A ST. FRANICS YACHT CLUB
LIABILITY WAIVER BEFORE THE COMPETITORS' MEETING ON APRIL 4th.  An ICSA RP
Form must also be completed and signed by a representative from each team by
the conclusion of the event on Sunday.

 


BOATS & TRAILER STORAGE


Competitors will supply their own FJ's.  Charters can be made through
Stanford, email  <mailto:[email protected]> [email protected].
All trailers may be kept free of charge in the StFYC storage yard (at the
direction of the StFYC Dockmaster) one night prior to the beginning of
racing and one night after racing concludes.   Any boats left on the
premises outside this time frame are subject to fees or removal.  If you
plan on leaving a trailer in the City parking lot prior to Saturday morning
or overnight on Sunday, please contact the Harbormaster's Office at
(415)292-2013 for an overnight parking permit.  All trailers left overnight
will be towed if they do not have a city permit. 

 


HOUSING


Competitors will need to provide their own housing.
