Fordham University's fleet of 10 420's is FOR SALE now and may be picked up at Morris Yacht & Beach Club, City Island, Bronx, NY or available for buyer-financed delivery in May 2010, at the end of the spring sailing season. At that time, the six original boats will have been sailed for nine seasons, i.e., since the fall of 2001, and the four newer ones for five or six seasons, since the fall of 2004 or 2005. They have been used for two practice days per week during the fall and spring and two-three regattas per year. Boats come with very good, two-year old, colorful, team racing sails from Winters and dollies, which are adequate. Boats and sails may be viewed at our web site: www.fordham.edu/athletics/sailing.
The fleet is priced at $27,000 for all 10 boats. This is based upon a cost of $2,500 per boat for the original six and $3,000 per boat for the newer four. Six or four boats may be purchased at a 5% premium and individual boats may be reserved at a 10% premium, subject to preemption by a fleet sale. Orders for fleet sales, i.e., 10, six or four boats, must be accompanied by a non-refundable 25% deposit with the order. An additional non-refundable 25% will be due in 90 days from the date of the order, and the final 50% will be due upon pick-up or prior to delivery next May. Individual boat orders must be accompanied by the same 25% + 25% deposits, which will be refunded ONLY if the order is preempted by a fleet order.
