The regatta began in Chicago with sunny sky's. The temperature was relatively warm in the upper 40's. After a postponement of the first race, the breeze filled in a little. It courses were set up for a Southwest breeze, but it was shifty. The wind speed was 3.5 knots to 6 knots. All the races sailed were Windward-leeward, 4 legs.
