U.S. YOUTH MATCH RACING OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2010! Match Racing is an exhilarating form of racing, and is especially exciting for sailors who enjoy the tight combat of boat-to-boat tactics.
For 2010, there are several Youth Match Racing opportunities already scheduled, and more in the works. Please spread the word. These should be especially interesting to sailors in the 16-21 year old range when they are deciding to continue with the sport or not. Each of the four events listed below provide Clinics with expert coaches, so the sailors will learn the tactics of match racing as well as the advanced sailing techniques needed to race a small keelboat well. Two of the events will actually qualify the top skipper to the 2010 Governor's Cup Match Race, July 20-25, which is an annual international youth match racing championship run by the Balboa Yacht Club in southern California. **************************************************************** May 14-16, 2010 - Youth Match Race Clinic & Regatta (Gov Cup qualifier) Hosted by the Balboa Yacht Club (Corona del Mar, California) Information: www.balboayachtclub.com <http://www.balboayachtclub.com/> (Youth Sailing/Youth MR) Applications due by April 2, 2010 **************************************************************** June 23-27, 2010 - Youth Match Racing Camp & Regatta (Gov Cup qualifier) Hosted by the US Sailing Center Sheboygan (Sheboygan, Wisconsin) Information: www.ussailingcentersheboygan.org <http://www.ussailingcentersheboygan.org/> Applications due by May 1, 2010 **************************************************************** July 9-11 - Youth Match Racing Clinic July 23-25 - Youth Match Racing Clinic & Regatta Hosted by the Oakcliff Sailing Center (Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York) Information: www.oakcliffsailing.org/ Or write to: [email protected] ________________________________________________ icsa mailing list [email protected] http://www.collegesailing.org/mailman/?listname=icsa Unsubscribe: Send a blank email to [email protected]
