Five teams sailed on Tampa Bay in warm, mid-80 temperatures and southerly winds 14-16 knots with gusts in the 20's. With racing on Sunday only, and a forecast for deteriorating conditions, report time was advanced to 8am. The full rotation was completed by 1pm. The modified windward-leeward races were run expeditiously, averaging 11 minutes in length. No breakdowns, no protests, but numerous capsizes.
Congratulations to the Eckerd Team of Cara Vavolotis, Lara Dallman-Weiss, Charlotte Dorris, Emilie Mademann, and Sarah Lee for winning on a tiebreaker the 2010 SAISA Women's Spring Dinghy Championship. Eckerd will receive the automatic berth to the ICSA Women's Nationals. The College of Charleson, University of South Florida, and University of Florida will go on to represent SAISA at the 2010 Women's Semi Finals.
