Columbia University Sailing Club seeks a Head Sailing Coach
The Columbia Sailing Team is part of the Columbia University Club
Sports Program and is administered by club members and student officers.
The Columbia Sailing Team sails out of City Island Yacht Club, in City
Island, New York, just down the street from Fordham University’s
sailing site. This fall, the Columbia team will own a new fleet of 10
Club 420s; these new 420s, in conjunction with Fordham’s new fleet of
10 Club 420s for a combined 20 boat fleet, will enable the team to co-
host district and intersectional regattas. The team currently owns one
safety motorboat for coaching, and will be acquiring a second coach
boat this summer. We are looking for a dedicated coach that will help
to develop our sailing program in order to take our team to the next

Job Responsibilities:
The head coach is responsible for on and off the water coaching at
practices and regattas as well as fleet and facilities management.
The coach will be expected to be knowledgeable in collegiate sailing
rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience, college sailing experience
as either a coach or competitor is preferred.
-Strong organizational and communication skills
