The regatta is co-hosted by MIT and BU to honor the third Sailing Master of MIT. Hatch was an instrumental leader for 29 years contributing to college sailing and teaching somewhere near 40 thousand MIT students how to sail. He also was a member of the BU Sailing Team and won A division in college nationals. Thanks to Harvard for loaning their fleet of FJs for the weekend.
A light seabreeze of 4-8 knots had a hard time building pressure all day. The course had a triple gate feature with a mid-course gate on the upwind legs. St Marys Seahawks hold a tight lead over the Catamounts of Vermont with Yale lurking nearby in third place.
