After a significant wait for the breeze, racing for the 2010 Shields Trophy was abandoned and competitors returned to the dock. So the positions following racing yesterday stand as the final results (once tie breakers were sorted out).
A big congratulations to the California Maritime Keelhaulers who continued their streak at Navy and finished on top winning the first place tie breaker over the team from Navy. Coast Guard and Maine Maritime posted strong showings to take 3rd and 4th respectively. Thanks to PRO Fred Dersch and his very capable race committee; Dan Trammell, Maureen Mills and Mike Brownlee who were standing by as jury and our volunteer safety officers Dick Lunsford, Bill Maclay, Harry Gamber, Henry Morgan, Frieda Wildey, Dan Trammell, Maureen Mills, Corey Sheeron, Robbie King, Todd Greene and Mike Brownlee. Next up on the 44s at Navy is McMillan Cup 23 & 24 October. Jahn Tihansky Navy Sailing Final scores: 1. Cal Maritime 1,2,1,6 10 2. Navy 3,1,5,1 10 3. Coast Guard 2,4,4,2 12 4.
