2010 NWICSA Match Race Championship

REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:

Saturday:
Racing got underway shortly after 10:30 in 6-8knts from the south.
Five teams sailed a single round robin in a pair of Santana 20's for
seeding into the later rounds. Two tie breakers were sailed as well as
a double round robin repechage. Winds held steady throughout the day
with frequent rain showers, fading in the late evening. 18 races were
finished before 6:30pm. At the end of Saturday standings were 1- UW,
2- WWU, 3- UO and 4- OSU 5- LC. The top four teams advanced to the to
the gold round to begin on Sunday.

Sunday:
Sailors arrived to heavier rain and lighter winds. Racing was
postponed until 11am. Light winds held up the gold round, with 4 races
sailed UW and WWU advanced to the finals. Numerous attempts were made
to start the finals. After 2 hours of postponement, 4 abandoned races
and a forecast of even lighter breeze, race committee canceled the
finals at 3:45pm. Standings reverted back to the initial round robin
and the tie breaker series sailed on Saturday.

ICSA National Sloop Match Race!
