Summary
Saturday, October 29:

A light NE breeze gave way to 15-20 knot puffy conditions with a full on
monsoon. Twelve races were completed in both divisions on course 4s and 5s.
A tight battle is expected for the 7 New England berths to the ACCs. Many
thanks to the MIT dockstaff of Stew Craig, Jeff Gilbert, Pat Joyce and
Gerard Welch who swapped out broken equipment and kept the event running
smoothly. Jeff Dusek, John Stokes, Brooks Reed, Josh Leighton and Karlen
Ruleman heard protests and redress requests. Report time is postponed until
11 am on Sunday. Full detailed results may be viewed at

Sunday, October 30:

Sunday: Late report time (11 AM) allowed for enough snow to melt for safe
traveling. Competitors were greeted with N-NW breeze ranging from 3-16
knots, and ample sunshine. 6 races per division were sailed with a short
lunch break. Thanks to the following volunteers: Finish boat: Laura Dunphy,
Tevis Nichols, and Zach Drach. Scoring: David Alfonso, Angie Nehmzow, Mark
Van de Loo, and Bruno Faviero. Dock Master: Pat Joyce, and Dockstaff:
Gerard Welch, Jeff Gilbert and Stew Craig. Judges: John Stokes, Brooks
Reed, John Garrity and Jeff Dusek. NEISA Rep: Alden Reid. PRO: Fran
Charles. Congrats to the Dartmouth Big Green for winning the 2011 Schell,
and for the next 6 teams who qualified for the ACCs.
