Saturday:
All but seven races of the first round robin were completed today at the
Hap Moore Trophy Team Race. The morning races were sailed in a
north-northeasterly with strong outgoing current. When the current in
the channel got too strong to make positive progress upwind, the race
committee moved the course as far into the CGA mooring field as
possible. In the afternoon the breeze took a hard swing to the left to
more of a northwesterly, which caused the next and final course
adjustment of the day. Racing was called at 4:15 when the breeze
completely shut off.

Sunday:
Sailors showed up to a dying northerly that was not sailable by 10am.
Soon after, however, a westerly filled across the river and racing got
underway. The final seven races of the first round robin were completed
in that 4-8 knot westerly. During a short break to create a new
rotation the breeze went hard to the south and began to build. The gold
and silver round robin started in a south-southwesterly that eventually
went to more of a west-southwesterly that ranged from 5 to 12 knots.
Very few course changes were made during the afternoon as competitors,
umpires, and spectators enjoyed beautiful team race conditions.

Congratulations to the Tufts Jumbos who finalized their victory in a
very close battle during the last race of the regatta. They finished
the weekend with a record of 13-2. The Boston College Eagles (12-3)
were right behind, winning their head to head race with the Roger
Williams Hawks (11-4) in their last race to secure second place. The
Brown Bears (10-5) went undefeated in the gold round but finished just
outside the top three.

Thanks very much to the team of Coast Guard undergrads who did a
fantastic job running 80 quality racing during the two days. Also a
huge thanks to our team of umpires who made for much better racing by
being here and on the water. On Saturday we had Alice Leonard, Greg
Kiely, John Moulthrop, and Kerry Sullivan. Sunday we had a huge team
which allowed for many fully umpired races in both the gold and silver:
Peter Johns, Rick Bishop, John Pratt, Peter Wilson, Alice Leonard, John
Moulthrop, Jeff Dusek, Kerry Sullivan, and Scout the black lab who was
in charge of the black flag. No protests were filed or heard.
