St. Francis Interconference Regatta
March 31-April 1, 2012
San Francisco, CA
St. Francis Yacht Club & Stanford University

Saturday : a great day of sailing on the San Francisco City Front. St. Francis
Yacht Club Race Committee and collegiate sailors headed out just after the rain
let up. We sailed in southwest breeze ranging from 15 to 28 knots. The breeze
was puffy and ticky tack. We sailed Windward/Leeward courses all day with long
offset legs. With an ebb tide/cross course current in the morning and flood
tide/cross course (3kts) in the afternoon the offset legs were set long to
square up the beats and runs. A rig broke, a couple pintles, and a speader.
Packs of boats were fully planing at any given time. We completed four races in
each division and finished up around 1600hrs. The UCSB Gauchos sailed a strong
day with their B Division boat throwing a few bullets up on the board. Hawai'i
Rainbows and Washington Huskies rounded out second and third positions for the
day. Looking forward to another great day of sailing tomorrow! Thanks to all of
the race committee volunteers, jury members, coaches, sailors, team leaders.
