ICSA Coaches, The ICSA Board of Directors is looking for Team Leader / Coach for the 2013 British University Sailing Association (BUSA) Tour. The tour will take place during the summer of 2013 and consist of an all-star team of ICSA sailors selected by resume'. The tour traditionally spans about 3 weeks. The 2009 tour took place from July 3-23.
The BUSA - ICSA tour is a bi-annual event dating from the 1960's. The host country alternates each time the tour takes place. This summer's tour will take place in the UK. The event consists of a series of matches between BUSA schools and the ICSA team. Racing takes place in a variety of boats, across all sailing disciplines in a variety of venues. Past coaches include Tom Kinney (TK) 1981, Ken Legler 1985, George Wood 1989, 1993, Brian Doyle 1997 and Brian Stanford 2001, Bill Ward 2005, and Geoff Ewenson 2009. Criteria should include but not be limited to: Professional coaching experience Budget Management Team Racing experience Outdoor leadership skills Ability to drive a van on British roads with tight hedges at night with no directions Ability to work for free (Normal travel expenses and modest per diem are covered by the ICSA) Duties include: Organize team selection Coordinate Team travel Work with UK contacts to develop schedule Coordinate Housing and transportation Manage travel budget Coach team during events Provide team leadership and guidance Submit post-trip report to ICSA Board of Directors & US Sailing Foundation To apply, send your resume' to me at the email below.
