Equipment for US Sailing’s 2013 ISAF Youth World Qualifier Announced
Portsmouth, R.I. (November 15, 2012) – US Sailing’s Olympic Sailing Committee 
has announced the equipment for its 2013 International Sailing Federation 
(ISAF) Youth Worlds Qualifier regatta. The event will take place January 18-21, 
2013 at the Clearwater Yacht Club in Clearwater, Fla., and is open to U.S. 
sailors and to Canadian youth sailors in select classes.
U.S. competitors:

·        Boy’s One Person Dinghy: Laser Radial

·        Girl’s One Person Dinghy: Laser Radial

·        Boy’s Two Person Dinghy: International 420

·        Girl’s Two Person Dinghy: International 420



U.S. and Canadian competitors:



·        Open Skiff: 29er

·        Boy’s Windsurfer: RS:X with 8.5m2 sail & 60cm fin

·        Girls Windsurfer: RS:X with 8.5m2 sail & 60cm fin

·        Open Multihull: Formula 16

All competitors shall be a member of the member national authority they intend 
to represent: US Sailing for U.S. citizens and residents, Canadian Yachting for 
Canadian citizens and residents. Sailors must be under the age of 19 by 
December 31, 2013, be eligible to represent the United States at the ISAF Youth 
World Championships 2013, and hold a valid United States or Canadian passport, 
as applicable. The Notice of Race is posted

is by January 11, 2013.
Racing for this event will take place on the Gulf of Mexico and/or Clearwater 
Harbor from January 19-21, 2013 with registration and measurement checks taking 
place on January 18.  Nine races are scheduled and awards will be presented to 
competitors immediately following racing on January 21. Each class winner who 
meets all eligibility requirements will be invited to join the US Sailing 
Development Team and to represent the United States at the ISAF Youth World 
Championships 2013 in Limassol, Cyprus.

About the US Sailing Development Team
Created in 2008, the US Sailing Development Team is qualified for annually, and 
supported and administered exclusively by the U.S. Olympic Sailing Program and 
Olympic Sailing Committee (OSC). US Sailing’s Youth Worlds Team is a component 
of the USSDT. The mission for the USSDT is to develop sailors for 
Olympic-caliber competition and to prepare them for qualification to the US 
Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider and the Olympic Sailing Team. In 2011, the US 
Sailing Development Team won three silver medals at the ISAF Youth Worlds, and 
three bronze medals at the 2010 ISAF Youth Worlds.
