Hatch Brown Trophy
MIT/Boston University
September 21-22

Early morning clouds over the Charles River gave way to sunshine by mid-day. A
light West by Northwest breeze built throughout the day, and the final races
were held in about 12 knots of wind. Seven races were held for three divisions
racing in a fleet of Fireflies and a fleet of FJ’s. MIT Sailing Master Fran
Charles ran races with the help of MITNA member Aiden Doherty and Sam Campbell
(BU ’17). Shore side operations were run by MIT coach Matt Linblad (SMC ’99),
Stewart Craig, Mike Costello, Wally Corwin, and Stan Schreyer (BU ’99). John
Moulthrop (HWS ’10) was the chief judge. Two protests were heard and
disallowed. 2 breakdown hearings took place, one of which was awarded.
