Tools and data used in the position include imagery data (AVHRR, Landsat TM, SPOT), satellite derived vegetation indexes, crop models, GIS software (ArcView, ArcInfo), image processing s/w PCI, agro-meteorological data models, web page content and design s/w, graphic design s/w, spreadsheet s/w, GIS software, digital image processing, weather station data, climate data, historical agricultural production data, and assessing news wire stories. Analysis will cover major grains, oilseeds and cotton (soybeans, canola, wheat, barley, corn, cotton, peanuts, and sorghum) of the major exporting and importing countries. Pay for this position varies with experience, but tends to be very good compared to industry (see announcement for details). Travel (with overnights) for this position is likely to be less than 5% percent of the time.
